木琴を使って正解を伝える音楽ゲームです。一人の演奏者と、聴衆に分かれてプレイします。
演奏が正しく聴衆に伝わった時、双方が得点します。
演奏者はポンコツの木琴を鳴らして、複数の言葉カードの中から二枚の組み合わせを曲名として即興演奏します。
聴衆は、どの言葉カードの組み合わせを演奏しているのかを推測します。
演奏は２回行いますが、言葉カードの片方が変化するので、演奏者は違いが伝わるように木琴を鳴らし、いっぽう聴衆はその違いに耳を傾けることが大切です。
聴衆が解答するのは曲名ではなく「言葉カードの構成位置」というルールがこのゲームにひねりを効かせています。
演奏のたびに聴衆は解答用紙に答えを書き込んでいき、最後に正解を確認します。
全員が演奏者をプレイして合計得点が高いプレイヤーが勝者です。
スリムな箱から出てくる木琴のコンポーネントも秀逸です。
Music Nonsense
Your Off-Key Performance Somehow Gets Across.
Can you get the message across with this wonky xylophone? In this music game, one player performs while everyone else listens. When a listener guesses correctly, both the listener and the performer will score points.
The performer selects two word cards, combines them into a song title, and improvises a tune. The listeners try to work out which pair of cards inspired the music.
The performer plays twice, replacing one word card for the second tune, while making an audible difference , while the listeners listen intently.
Here’s the twist: the listeners need to identify the cards' positions, rather than writing down the song title. They record their guesses on an answer sheet after each performance, then check the answers at the end. Once everyone has had a turn as the performer, the player with the highest total score wins.
And the xylophone itself is a lovely surprise, tucked inside a slim box.
